World Rowing Rules of Racing

The races shall be rowed according to the World Rowing Rules of Racing and related bye-laws. A rower may compete if he/she attains the age of 27 in 2024.

 

Age categories

A = minimum age 27 years | B  = average age 36 years | C  = average age 43 years | D = average age 50 years E  = average age 55 years | F  = average age 60 years | G = average age 65 years | H = average age 70 years | I= average age 75 years | J = average age 80 years | K  = average age 83 years | L  = average age 86 years | M = average age 89 years


Within an age category, a sorting by the year of birth is applied equivalent to the World Masters Regatta. The sorting by year of birth will be done at the draw considering all valid entries by the time of the draw. The sorting within an age category will be done backwards from the oldest to the youngest participant


Race divisions

When the number of entries in an event exceeds the number of available racing lanes, the event will be divided into two or more finals. If an event’s age category has one entry only, this crew shall start in the next lower age category.


Mixed races

Mixed crews are crews where half of the crew excluding the coxswain shall be women and half shall be men.


Clothing

Members of the same crew shall compete wearing uniform clothing.

The regulation regarding uniform clothing does not apply for mixed crews.

Crew Changes

Crew changes are possible up to four hours before the start time of the first division of the respective event. A maximum of only half of the rowers of a team may be changed. A crew change is not permitted if the age of the substituted rower would lower the average age of the original team by more than one year or would change the age category of the team. Deviation from the World Rowing Rules of Racing: Substitutes do not have to be members of the same club (or, in the case of racing teams, do not have to belong to one of the participating clubs).

 

Withdrawals

If a team cannot or does not want to participate in an event, the team must withdraw at as soon as possible. For reasons of fairness for the opponents and for teams that want to participate by late entry instead, the withdrawal should be done by 13:00 (CEST) of the day before the race, but at the latest two hours before the start time of the first heat of the respective event.

First Aid
Medical facilities and services are located at the regatta building next to the finish tower and are available during the official opening hours of the venue on training and race days. 

Anti-doping
The regatta follows World Rowing anti-doping guidelines. Read more here.

Personal Medicine
If you need medicine, please bring this with you alltimes, including when you are on the water for training and racing.  

Boat Park
Boat racks are located in the boathouse area near the pontoons and in the wider area of the boat house area. Crews are responsible for ensuring that their boats are securely fastened to the racks at all times and that there is no risk of them being damaged by adverse weather conditions. Crews arriving with boats on trailers are advised to bring slings to secure the boats.

Pontoons
There are 3 pontoons in total, two which are open to all boats, 1 are reserved for rental boats.

Bow Numbers

Bow numbers must be collected from the boathouse next to the outgoing pontoon at least one hour before each event. 

Info Centre

The Info Centre or Regatta Office is located in the finish tower.
Our staff will be happy to answer any questions you may have during the following opening hours
- Fredag kl.14:00. 
- Lørdag kl.09:00.  
- Søndag kl.09:00.  

At the Info Centre we post all event results and official announcements and offer the automatic results service to retrieve individual results. All results are of course also available ONLINE during and after the regatta.

Team Tents
Team tents can be set up on the green area calles "Trekanten". Space will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. If you have any questions, please contact the Info Centre.

Drinking Water
The tap water in Copenhagen is of excellent quality and drinkable. We recommend the use of refillable water bottles. Attention: The water in the toilet containers is not drinking water.

Boat Repairs
We do not offer any kind of boat repairservice or sale of spare parts.
